River Raisin Ballet Company

About the River Raisin Ballet Company

The RRB was formed in 2001 as a part of the River Raisin Centre for the Arts’ Dance Academy’s special performance curriculum options for classical ballet students. The RRB has performed the annual Nutcracker Ballet since 2004.

Our goal is to become an integral part of the Monroe community and surrounding areas. We take pride in providing a nurturing environment for our dancers with positive direction and sound instruction to develop the skills and talents of every child. Through various performance opportunities, our students gain confidence as well as valuable stage experience. From the youngest apprentices to the advanced senior company, we strive to enable all students to reach their full potential with exceptional classical ballet training and well-crafted, artistic choreography. Several of our students have gone on to pursue dance degrees, studies in the arts, and professional careers in the field of dance. While we strive to inspire our students, we in turn are inspired by their passion and love of dance.

At the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, we are fortunate to be surrounded by a wide variety of arts education with easy access to the professional performances of the Theatre’s Marquee Series.  Our students have the opportunity to develop a true appreciation for all the performing arts.

One cannot help but feel the excitement and passion generated by the professionals who teach music, voice, drama, and dance at the RRCA. We are proud to be a part of this wonderful organization which promotes and strives for excellence.

The annual spring ballet performances have included contemporary works set by guest artists as well as classical ballets including:

Graduation Ball ~ Coppelia ~ Cinderella
Pas De Quatre ~ Peter and the Wolf
