It has been our pleasure being a part of the arts education offered at the RRCA. We love walking through the doors to hear violin, trumpet, and piano lessons in session. To be surrounded by arts educators of such high caliber, to teach classes filled with dedicated, disciplined students, to be supported by staff members who work tirelessly to keep the RRCA alive and thriving has been an inspiration. We are proud of what we do, who we are, and what we have achieved.
The RRB has matured over the past decade. Students currently performing major roles have grown up dancing in our stage productions. They have had numerous opportunities to perform in ballets such as Cinderella, Nutcracker, Wizard of Oz, Coppelia, Graduation Ball, Pas de Quatre, and Peter and the Wolf. Peter Pan is the newest addition to our growing repertoire. The process of creating a new ballet opens the door of the imagination with its unending possibilities. The success of this production is due to the contributions of many creative individuals. From the weekly rehearsals to the pounding of the nails and buzzing of the sewing machine, to the designing of the lighting and the flying of scenic drops, this show, as with all community productions, takes caring individuals who are dedicated and willing to donate their talent and time to the arts. We are grateful to all those who shared this jostling journey from vivid visions to rational reality.
The River Raisin Ballet is just one of many fine resident companies associated with the RRCA. Please come see all of our productions and concerts! It is our hope that we will get to see another decade of dancers, singers, musicians, and actors walking in and out of the RRCA doors. In difficult economic times, the arts keep a community alive and vibrant, and yet, the arts are the first to lose much needed support and donations. Please help us keep our doors open. Our beautiful, historical building is a jewel in the community, and the arts education held within its walls is priceless.
