Dyanne Morehouse
Costume Director
Handmade ballet costumes are the specialty of Dyanne Moorehouse. As Costume Mistress for the River Raisin Ballet Company, she has produced frogs, cupcakes, flowers, fish, court jesters, space-age tutus, even flamingos with matching croquet mallets. Not many know that she failed her sewing class at Whitmer High School because she chose not to follow the patterns. Even then, she said that she wanted to do her “own thing.” For the past twenty years she has been doing just that - hand-making original costumes with no patterns. Whether it is a classical ballet tutu or the Cheshire Cat, Dyanne puts her imaginative touches on every piece. Her sewing creations can be found in all RRB productions including Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Coppelia, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and the beloved Wizard of Oz
